Shared-storage layout for redesigning the damaged-goods warehouse

The Faculty of Engineering, Mulawarman University's equipment warehouse is divided into the office-stationery and damaged-goods warehouse. Office-stationery stores office stationery, spare parts, consumables. Meanwhile, for damaged goods various such as furniture, Personal Computer (PC) components, electronic goods, laboratory equipment. problem with that many items need to be better organized so they cannot classified between furniture items, PC electronics, Then another difficulty in collecting inventory data at University. Therefore, this study proposes improvements warehouse’s layout more efficient storing method used shared storage, where fast-moving are stored a storage area near entrance exit. results from show University, could optimal, causing ineffectiveness movement occurred was unorganized. proposed redesign shows it than layout. It can seen placement according their classification effective distance door.
